I had a 77/22 that I could not get decent accuracy with, and I consider myself a good tuner. Do a search and you will find mixed reviews on the subject. In my opinion, a beautiful, good functioning rifle with a lousy barrel and a high price tag. A lot of guys rebarrel them and have good shooters, but why not buy a rifle with a good reputation ...TRIGGERS. SERVICES. On a trued action it shot great, lots of groups in the .2s&.3s. Cleaned up as easy as my barts and kriegers. I pulled the barrel at 2400-2500, it's been 6yrs ago, so kinda fuzzy. It still shot under 3/4moa, with no flyers or wild shots at distance, but it had lost 125fps.Jan 15, 2011 · Anyway my 10/22 with the ER shaw barrel shot .850 center to center at 75m. and my CZ452 shot .6 center to center. Both were 10 shot groups. My CZ has a 1.5lb trigger weight and was outfitted with a leupold 3-10 mk4 m3. The 10/22 has a 4-16 pst which is a bit washed out and breaks at almost 5 pounds. This provides the shooter the ability to have one action for multiple cartridges. With minimal effort, shooters can change from a .223 Remington to a .204 Ruger or a .22-250 to a 6mm BR in a matter of minutes.Shilen makes great quality barrels, but not because the rifling style. The performance comes from good quality blanks with sharp tooling, good quality control, so on, so on. The ratchet rifling is marketing. Maybe it makes a difference, but it's not enough of a difference for a mere mortal like myself to notice. Straight Shooter.

All three were equally accurate, and the best groups I could get with each of them for 5 shots at 50 yards measured 1/4". The .223 barrel will consistently shoot 1 inch 300 yard groups with 80g Bergers. His 6mmbr barrel with shoot 107g SMKs with RL 15 0.5MOA out to 600 yards routinely.
