Ford 8n funk conversion kit for sale

Man that would be a big jump in HP. From 23 to 95! Seems that Ford sued Funk over the conversion claiming it was tearing up the ring and pinion gears. Seems that Ford neglected to heat treat the gears on some tractors. Ford eventually authorized Funk to sell the kits. The kits then became available through the dealer.

Feb 16, 2015. #1. There is no need to buy a stupid kit it is easy to do with just a few wires and an alternator. I do the 12 volt thing all the time and have never payed for a kit. $50 alternator from O'Reilly's and a diode and a plug for the alternator and some wire and in 30 minutes it is 12 volts.The issue that came up was the amount of current the steering unit used when turning the wheel a lot. I have a Mitsubishi MT2201 with a loader and never have felt the steering to be very hard unless setting still with a full loader. Mine is 2wd. The 850 Ford on the other hand is a bear with less than 40lbs of air in the tires.With a proper conversion, you can get an 8N tractor up to 100 horsepower!
