Grinding noise when braking but pads are fine

The brakes work great, but the sound bothers me. I can't tell if it is the front brakes making the noise or the rear drums. I am assuming the rears are still good being that just 3500 miles ago, the dealer told me the front pads were getting low and the rear looked fine. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.
