Best armor weapon combo grounded

I was using the Larva Blade and upgraded it three times. Was curious what tier 2 weapon would be best. I am definitely more of one handed shield player cause I suck at the game and can’t really use two handers. As far as I am aware the tier 2 one handed weapons are the Mosquito Needle, the Black Ant Sword, and the Stinger Spear.

The best answer to this really is that it depends on the situation, but if you had to pick 1 afaik, spicy swords are still the most commonly viable because of ants and spiders being weak to spicy. That being said Ladybird larva are practically immune to them though. I mean without hopefully spoiling, there's a reason there is a tier 3 weapon ...I.E., many meals have overlapping bonuses but they do not stack because both sources are meals. However the bonus provided by a meal can be stacked with an identical bonus from a smoothie. Add weapons, armors, mutations, and trinkets and you can really change your in-game outcomes. The Stinger Spear effectively has a double hit speed, dealing 3 damage with 7 speed. Basically 6 damage at the same time when the Mace does 8.5. With 30% mutations the Mace does 11.05 damage and the Spear does 7.8 damage. Now the Mace has the advantage of stunning the enemy.Before the 1.1 update that they are working on now, they where B Class at best. But with the mutation changes as well as a few minor changes to the staffs. After 1.1 they are easy S tier in my opinion. Plus hammers are one of the weakest weapon types, so smasher isn't that great imo.
